Packing can be a challenge for most people. From figuring out what to bring, what not to bring, and how to fit it all, packing for trips can be one of the most frustrating experiences that one could have. You want to bring everything that you could possibly need, but you don’t want to pay for an overweight bag.

This makes complete sense yet how do you avoid bringing too much to your timeshare in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, and still make sure to have everything you need. To help you out, here are some tips on important items and things one should and shouldn’t bring for a beach vacation:

  • Do bring your bathing suit and not just one. After all, you’re going to spend time on the beach and in the water. In fact, a bathing suit will probably be the one item that you will be wearing the most. So, go ahead and make room for a couple of them.
  • Sandals, flip-flops, dress shoes, and tennis shoes should go in your bag. You will want to, of course, make sure that you bring sandals and flipflops for spending time at the beach.  You will also want to consider bringing a pair of dress shoes or dressy sandals (for women) if you want to go out at night. Mexico often has a strict dress code at some nicer restaurants or clubs and you’ll want to make sure to get in. A pair of tennis shoes will allow you to go hiking or enjoy other land-based adventures, should you so desire to go on one.
  • Don’t bring coats or thick jackets. Pack breathable outfits. It doesn’t really get cold enough to wear heavy winter wear, so if you’re worried about getting a chill should the weather cool off during your stay at your timeshare resort, just bring a light sweater. Otherwise, you won’t need much else. Besides, winter wear tends to take up a lot of space in one’s bag. Pack clothing that allows you to feel fresh and cool on warmer days. From shorts to light summer dresses, Puerto Vallarta stays reasonably warm all year long.
  • Bring a book or two, but to save space, download them onto a Kindle or your favorite reader. You’ll probably stay plenty busy while in town, but if you want to enjoy a good read, now is the time to do it. Lay back and enjoy the ocean breeze at your timeshare suite and read books that you love.
  • Pack your must-have toiletries. While most places will have the basic necessities, pack the extras that you won’t want to worry about. From the shampoo you love to the sunblock you need, go ahead and pack them. If you can and don’t mind taking small bottles of them, it will help you to save space in your luggage.
  • Bring your personal snorkeling gear if you want to save money and care about hygiene. Since you aren’t bringing any big, bulky winter clothing that you don’t really need. Consider bringing your favorite swim items, such as goggles, mask, and snorkel. If it doesn’t matter to you to use ones that have already been used, don’t worry about bringing them, you can find plenty here.
  • Don’t forget important medication and mosquito repellent. While the basic over-counter pills can be found here, if you need to take prescribed medication, make sure to bring it with you. Mosquito repellent will help you to enjoy your time without being bitten.

After packing, there is nothing left to do but enjoy your vacation at your time share in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit. It’s a paradise here. Happy holidays!
