Earlier this month the 2019 Canadian Garden Tourism Awards were held from November 3-5 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada with the theme of “Taking Garden Tourism to the Next Level”. The Puerto Vallarta Botanical Garden was presented with an award for being recognized as one of the “Top 10 North American Gardens Worth Travelling For”.
Located about 15 miles south of Puerto Vallarta’s city center, the Vallarta Botanical Garden is a luscious property with over 3000 species of plants, various hiking trails, perfect picnic grounds and the refreshing water of the Hoscones River. Besides its breathtaking surroundings and an extraordinary amount of plant species, the garden is also home to all kinds of birds, reptiles, and mammals, making it both a valuable tourism attraction and a precious ecosystem unique to Mexico’s tropical Pacific coast.
Additionally, Vallarta’s Botanical Gardens were also included in the list of Readers’ Choice 10 Best Botanical Gardens in North America earlier this year. Needless to say, a visit to the Vallarta Botanical Garden is a must-do when it comes to things to do in Puerto Vallarta.
