The Riviera Nayarit celebrated the 2nd Annual Vidanta 2021 Tournament presented by Mazda. The competition was at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta on May 7th and 8th, with a substantial prize purse distributed in six categories.
Jesús Manuel Torres Segura, Director of Golf for the hotel development, announced that on this occasion, the tournament was played in the Medal Play format with 36 individual holes in classes AA, A, B, B, C, Senior, and Ladies.
He indicated that a safe event was possible since they complied with the sanitary protocols implemented by the health authorities to deal with the COVID-19 and the commitment of the players to abide by the measures fully.
The competition was on the spectacular Norman Signature Course, a world-class setting that offers the best golf with wall-to-wall paspalum playing surfaces. The stunning layout stretches along the Ameca River and offers beautiful views of the Sierra Madre from every hole. Large landing areas off the tee lead to undulating greens protected in typical Norman style by massive bunkers.
There was significant prizes for all categories, which are listed below:
Hole in One: Hole 5, a Golf Club Car. Hole 9, Corum Watch with a value of MXN 150,000. Hole 11, Mazda SEDAN 2021 i Touring TA. Hole 13, MXN 100,000 in cash. Hole 17, MXN 100,000 in cash.
O’yes: Grand Luxxe stays, watches, airline tickets, and more. Trophies will be awarded to the first three places in each category.
Jesús Carmona, president of the Banderas Bay Hotel and Motel Association and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau, said that hosting tournaments of this nature is both a great source of pride and a reflection of Riviera Nayarit’s strong commitment to golf and its growth and promotion.
