The Riviera Nayarit Visitors and Convention Bureau (CVB) has partnered with three tour operators in the United Kingdom to curate a collection of new and exclusive tours for the upcoming 2021-2022 winter season.

The collaboration is part of the CVB’s promotional strategy carried out by its communications agency in the United Kingdom, geared towards generating interest and awareness of the destination among European travelers.

This year the focus is on one of Riviera Nayarit’s most important attractions, whale watching. The Riviera Nayarit has partnered with three tour operators in the United Kingdom:

Journey Latin America

The company offers a seven-night stay at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, starting at £2,733 (US$3,311) per person. The price includes flights from London, transfers to the hotel, daily breakfast, and the whale-watching excursion.

Original Travel

The company operates a seven-night stay in the Riviera Nayarit that includes three nights’ B&B at Imanta in Punta Mita and four nights’ B&B at the new One & Only Mandarina from £5,950 (USD 7,212) per person. Price includes flights from London and hotel transfers.

Abercrombie & Kent

Abercrombie & Kent offers a ten-night stay in the Riviera Nayarit at the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita from £7,599 (US$9,211) per person. The price includes flights from London, transfers to the hotel, and daily breakfast. Activities included are a Huichol tour and a whale-watching excursion.

Whale watching tours

Whale watching tours in the Riviera Nayarit are led by experienced guides who respect the humpback whales and give them the space they need.

The guides educate guests about the creatures’ behavior, their movements in the water, and the songs they use to communicate with each other. With luck, visitors will see one or more whales as they play in the waves, slapping their tails as they go.

The tour companies generally use small boats, as they have the least impact and allow visitors to get close to the whales without disturbing them.

Many whale watching companies based in the Riviera Nayarit also allocate a portion of the profits from their trips to fund future whale research and conservation.

About the Riviera Nayarit

Renowned for its eclectic charm and authentic appeal, the Riviera Nayarit is Mexico’s youngest destination. With its unparalleled luxury and protected natural wonders, this stretch of coastline is an ideal choice for British travelers interested in exploring Mexico’s Pacific coast away from more well-known locations.

The beginning of the whale migration in the Riviera Nayarit runs from mid-November to the end of March. These oceanic giants travel south from North America to the warmer waters in and around the Pacific during the winter months to feed, mate, and give birth. Visitors can expect sightings of humpback whales, killer whales, blue whales, sperm whales, and California gray whales, as well as many species of dolphins.

From Nuevo Vallarta to Bucerías, Punta Mita, Sayulita, Guayabitos, and San Blas, all the way up the Pacific coast to Playa El Novilllero, there are countless places to spot whales. Watching them breach the surface of the water or spout a column of water into the sky is a magical and unforgettable experience.

The Riviera Nayarit is a safe destination. Our hotels, restaurants, and tourist establishments follow all the health protocols established by the Federal Government’s Ministry of Health and operate at the allowed capacities. Access to the beaches is limited. Be a responsible tourist: wear your mask and keep your distance.

We’re ready!
