Timeshare increases the level of vacation

Buying a timeshare is a common way to assure that our vacations will be in our favorite tourist destination, eliminating worry that creeps up as we make plans. Lourdes Ayala, Director of Regional Projects at Royal Holiday, explains these advantages in detail.

One of the advantages of having timeshare is that it permits you to “freeze your future vacations at the price of today. It allows you to get to know more places than you would have had you not had the times share, for example, a lot of people in our club had not visited Europe and now, thanks to their membership, they have visited the Old World and Asia as well.”

When we are working on a sale, “many of the developments give a certificate which allows for the guest to come back to Puerto Vallarta (even if they don’t acquire a membership). It’s a courtesy so that the next time they will stay with us.”

This is part of the job of the promoter: “Teach the tourist to give himself a better vacation for the best use of his money. The buyer of timeshare knows the units ahead of time, they know what the are like, they know they can arrive like they were home and have the possibility to be with their family in the same unit. The amenities of the units have the objective of making their visitors feel as if they were at home, and does not necessarily mean that they will not go out and consume in Puerto Vallarta.”

We need change

“The crisis has made us work harder as a team with the same objective: unite forces to bring more tourism to the region. There were gatherings, talks and meetings to understand who is doing what and who is involved in benefitting the destination. I can tell you that as of that moment, all of the chambers and associations (especially Adeprotur), got working together to bring about openness and empathy and bolster results.”

A career: The industry needs people

“The timeshare industry is a career. We have a virtual university in which the promoters must get accredited for a series of courses in order to give them a certificate validating their activities. We have approached college campuses and universities to plant the opportunities for work in the timeshare industry. This is a phenomenal career with tremendous professional drive.”

“This is an industry in which you have to work hard. Obviously no one begins as manager or director; it is an evolving process that serves to learn all about the industry. We earn on commission, which makes us more disciplined and make an effort every day. Activity keeps the mind fresh, and thank goodness we are busy.”
