From November 13th to 23rd, 2014, the International Gourmet Festival will receive 455 chefs from around the world in 30 hotels and restaurants in Vallarta • Nayarit.
20 years ago, Chef Thierry Blouet of Café des Artistes and Chef Heinz Reize of the Hotel Krystal devised an effective way to publicize the restaurants of Vallarta • Nayarit worldwide, creating a ten-day event that served to promote the cuisine of the region.
The first festival was held in six five-star hotel restaurants and six individual restaurants, each featuring a guest chef of international stature. Today, more than 30 restaurants and hotels participate in the festival which is attracting more and more renowned chefs who want to participate.
One of the features that make this festival a great success are the ingredients with which the dishes are prepared, as the beach and mountain climate that exists in this region inspire the chefs to create recipes with products from the sea, mountains and farms of our area.
Besides food the event features wine tastings, cooking classes and musical performances to bring an element of celebration and entertainment to the festival.
Certainly, this year's event will be successful and thousands of guests will be delighted by the flavors, landscapes and entertainment that this Vallarta • Nayarit International Gourmet Festival will provide.
