There is nowhere like Vallarta ● Nayarit in December, with perfect weather and incredible cultural events, this is one of the best times of the year to visit.

The first 12 days of the month are host to processionals through the charming cobblestone streets of Puerto Vallarta’s historic downtown towards the Our Lady of Guadalupe church. Along the way, the streets are lined with food vendors selling treats like tamales, corn, atole (a sweet drink made from corn), churros, fried bananas, tostadas, enchiladas and tacos. It’s a wonderful way to experience traditional Mexican culture.

It is also the time of year that Mexicans celebrate the Christmas season with posadas and you may be lucky enough to witness a reenactment of the story of Mary and Joseph seeking shelter at the inn, usually portrayed by children, prior to a big neighborhood party of friends and family.

December is also a wonderful time to visit Vallarta ● Nayarit because of the delicious foods served during the Christmas season, like Rosca del Reyes (a round, sweet bread), tamales, Christmas punches and a beautiful stuffed pepper dish called Chile en Nogada.

December is just one of the special months in Banderas Bay, the ideal year-round travel destination, which is why owning a timeshare in Vallarta ● Nayarit is such a popular option with savvy travelers.
