ADEPROTUR presents projects to MC candidates for Vallarta’s benefit

In the face of the upcoming elections, the Association requested the management support of Ing. Dávalos and Ramón Guerrero to carry out projects that will benefit the city if they are elected.

This week, the Association of Timeshare Developers and Promoters chaired by Lic. Lourdes Ayala, met with two of the three candidates up for popular election by the Movimiento Ciudadano party. During this meeting, concerns about the welfare of Vallarta were communicated.The meeting was attended by Ramón Guerrero, a candidate for the federal deputies, Ing. Arturo Dávalos, candidate for mayor of Puerto Vallarta, as well as a large majority of ADEPROTUR members.

Luis Ángel Cantú, executive president, was the spokesperson for the partners to announce the proposed projects to improve the city. Initially, an overview of what Puerto Vallarta represents in general terms was given, highlighting that 98% of its economy revolves around tourism activity, and that international tourist recurrence depends 70% on the stimulus of demand and the area’s connectivity.

The objective of the meeting was focused on approaching with the candidates to show a diagnosis of Puerto Vallarta. Some of the most pressing challenges and improvements needed in the city, in order to continue attracting tourism, were presented. Among the most relevant are:

►Improve the gazebo of Las Juntas that welcomes arrivals by embellishing it and dignifying it in order to transform it into a flagship of Puerto Vallarta.

► Resolve gardening and irrigation systems from the Ameca bridge to the Camarones Bridge.

►Improve the lateral roadways of Avenida Francisco Medina Ascencio, from the entrance to Fluvial to the Camarones Bridge.

► Improve and beautify the squares of the streets of the city center.

► Promote the putting into operation of quality public transport with adequate characteristics, that can circulate only in the center of the city and that are consistent, to the service that must be offered to the tourist that visits us.

► Create a special resource, allocated to the improvement and maintenance of the tourist infrastructure such as: the pier, the stairs of the Cuale bridge, etc.

Luis Ángel Cantú argued that the point of the meeting was to attend to the emblematic points of Puerto Vallarta, since at practically all the meetings to which they have been summoned, there is talk of different federal and state works, such as the aforementioned federation bridge, the macrolibration and other types of works, but they never refer to works that enrich the experience of Puerto Vallarta with their value.

"We are interested in our city doing well, that's why as an association we present these projects to you. So that you can help us with the management of the resources and the execution of the same", concluded the executive president of ADEPROTUR.

The joint challenge

For ADEPROTUR the great responsibility within the binomial government - company, is to satisfy tourists and promote the economic development of the tourist destination in order to position and potentiate it, putting in real value the differential facts that distinguish our brand, Puerto Vallarta.

Within the framework of the meeting some partners expressed their concerns, mainly related to what happens in the city, in terms of cleanliness and infrastructure, but above all real security that is perceived by the tourists that visit us and that provides tranquility and harmony.

To conclude, and understand the importance of improving the services and infrastructure of the city, Cantu shared that 54% of the airplane seats that arrive in Vallarta, are occupied by timeshare tourists, and ended with a projection of what it represents. The activity, highlighting the importance of the commitment of the candidates to carry out the works previously requested. The candidates for their part requested support to the guild to win in the next elections and give continuity to these and more projects that benefit Vallarta.

Projection of vacation ownership for tourism activity

It is estimated that by the end of 2018 there will be 149,683 new memberships; that is, 523,890 new tourists.

By 2023, 352,092 new memberships are projected, which means 1,232,323 new tourists.

For the year 2028, 668,665 new memberships are calculated that will represent 2,340,327 new tourists.
