There are seven species of sea turtles that can be found in Mexico. Unfortunately, they have been declared endangered species for for decades. However through collaboration with various organizations, the Mexican government has worked to ensure the protection of sea turtles from all kinds of dangers, including illegal fishing of the species, the presence of plastic in the oceans and the consumption of turtle eggs by humans.

In Puerto Vallarta, the Civil Association of the Conservation of Wonderful Species of Banderas Bay or CEMBAB, actively contributes to conservation work by promoting environmental education through different activities.

With the help of different tourism developments, CEMBAB organizes nocturnal surveillance for the location and protection of nests, and activities surrounding the release of baby turtles that in the future, return to spawn on our beaches. This represents a great opportunity to create awareness with your loved ones on your next visit to your timeshare in Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit.

Today more than ever, new generations are recognizing the importance of environmental awareness, which can have a substantial influence on creating a positive future for the planet and all the species that inhabit it. In Banderas Bay, there is a wide range of environmentally friendly activities and tourism focused on coexisting side by side with its exuberant nature and magnificent biodiversity.

While you will find all kinds interesting ecological activities to enjoy in this paradise in western Mexico, baby turtle release season extends between the months of June and December.
