On September 29th, it was formalized by the US Mexico Sister Cities Association that Puerto Vallarta and San Francisco are now officially sister cities. A ceremony was held on September 28th in Puerto Vallarta where city officials formally announced the new and exciting strategic relationship between the two cities. The ceremony, led by Puerto Vallarta’s Interim Mayor and attended by the General Consul of Mexico San Francisco, the president of the tourism commission and the city’s tourism director, marks a commoving new beginning to tourism opportunities in Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta and San Francisco are both known for their significantly vast LGBT communities and the financial demographic that accompanies LGBT lifestyle and travel. The sister city relationship is expected to deliver abundant opportunities for the cultural and commercial links between both cities, thus providing more opportunities for the tourism industry.

San Francisco is also known for its high per-capita purchasing power, due to an extensive network and bountiful businesses within Silicon Valley. There has been mention of mirroring this in Puerto Vallarta and thought has been put into developing it as a secondary industry here in the city.

All in all, there really has never been a better time to invest in the timeshare industry in Mexico. If you belong to the technological sector of business, to the LBGT community, or simply are interested in investing in a part of Mexico that is consistently on the rise, looking into a timeshare in Puerto Vallarta or Riviera Nayarit is a decision you won’t regret.
