Giant letters in Bucerías
The appearance of Bucerías’ downtown has changed with the installation of giant letters identifying the town. They were placed in the small boardwalk (malecón) that runs across from the main plaza, right next to the statue of the diver, another icon of Bucerías. The letters are made out of stainless steel and painted in bright marine motifs. They are already a tourist attraction, serving as a backdrop for many a souvenir pic.

For many years, the Arroyo del Indio in Bucerías was just a local brook that overflowed during the rainy season. Just a few weeks ago, though, it was sporting a new look: it has been channeled with a simple but charming promenade that allows visitors to walk across to the beach to the “Kissing Bridge” and observe the sunset, which is truly spectacular.
Paseo Aticama in San Blas
Aticama is one of the most visited beaches in the municipality of San Blas thanks to its gentle waves and warm climate. It recently unveiled a much-awaited new tourist attraction: The Paseo Aticama, a promenade approximately one kilometer in length that connects the beach at Matanchén with the town of Aticama. It has areas designated for pedestrians, bikes, and seating so visitors can enjoy the wonderful sunsets in San Blas. You can also admire a couple of statues that pay homage to this coastal town’s two icons: the oyster farmers and Rebeca Méndez, also known as “the crazy woman of San Blas.”
Promenades and Giant Letters in Guayabitos
Rincón de Guayabitos, also known as “The Heart of the Riviera Nayarit,” is a family-friendly tourist destination with a great tradition. It has 10 pedestrian promenades (andadores) that allow easy access to the beach—it’s one of the few tourist destinations in the country that boasts these “windows to the sea.” The main plaza was recently remodeled, and they added a new stage for artistic activities. The addition of giant letters spelling out “Guayabitos” were a must and have become the place to be for taking souvenir pics.
Paseo Delfín in Sayulita
In addition to the traditional boho chic charm of the town of Sayulita, the details and care put in by its inhabitants make it one of the most attractive micro-destinations in the Riviera Nayarit. Although the Paseo Delfín is not new, it’s one of the spaces that never go out of fashion—with its streamers of paper cutouts, it’s one of the most photographed by travelers.
The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) continue to promote the region together, reinforcing promotion and helping to position the destination on the domestic map, with the support of the Government of the State of Nayarit through the Tourism Promotion Trust (Fiprotur).
