Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico announced the flight schedules for the eighth month of the year, highlighting a 2.3% increase in the number of services compared to July.

Flight activity in the Puerto Vallarta-Riviera Nayarit region continues to increase thanks to the reactivation of national and international airlines. In the first week of August 2021, they are collectively completing more than 430 flights, with a projected 1,933 operations for the month, according to Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP).

The operator of the “Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz” International Airport, which serves Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit, released the flight schedules for the eighth month of the year highlighting a 2.3% increase in the number of services over July.

“Despite the global crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand generated by the region is reflected in the number of flights and the growing arrival of passengers,” said Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).

Although GAP has not reported a significant increase in flights, United is still the most active company internationally, with an average of 66 flights per week on the Houston, Chicago, Newark, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco routes.

Also notable are the new routes launched by Aeromar: Aguascalientes, with an average of four flights per week; San Luis Potosí, with six; and McAllen, in the United States, with two. Viva Aerobus and Volaris continue with 66 and 39 frequencies per week, respectively.

International airlines with scheduled operations for this month are American, Delta, Alaska, Southwest, United, Frontier, Sun Country, Spirit, and West Jet. Domestic airlines flying to the region include Aeromar, T.A.R., Aeroméxico-Aerolitoral, Magnicharter, Viva Aerobus, and Volaris.

The following is a list of flights announced for August for both new routes and increased frequencies.

Airport health safety protocols

Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the “Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz” International Airport has implemented safety and hygiene measures and protocols to prevent possible COVID-19 infections. These state-of-the-art measures are intended to provide passengers with confidence and encourage the safe use of air transportation in the so-called new normal.

The airports that comprise Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) were the first worldwide to receive Airport Health Accreditation certification from the Airports Council International (AHA ACI).
