Puerto Vallarta, which is considered one of the most important tourist destinations nationally and internationally, had a successful participation in the "World Education Congress" (WEC), one of the most important events in the education industry. Meetings organized by the MPI International Association "Meeting Professionals International", took place from June 21 to 23 at the Moscone Center West in the city of San Francisco.

“World Education Congress” is the most important annual congress of educational sessions with a focus on business, leadership, and the meeting industry. It celebrated its flagship event in person and thus commemorated its 50th anniversary after, in 2021, it was held in a hybrid way at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In this meeting, with a theatrical theme divided into 3 acts, Puerto Vallarta had an excellent turnout. It was attended by meeting planners, destinations, cruise lines, and technology and marketing companies, among other important industry professionals with whom there was close agreement to generate new partnerships.

The event is considered the perfect platform for linking the meetings industry since buyers and suppliers are updated on trends and good practices.

In this MICE industry event, Puerto Vallarta had the opportunity to show why it is an exceptional benchmark for business tourism. The diversity of scenarios that arise from the contrast between the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Mexican Pacific coast was highlighted, together with its modern infrastructure for events, the excellent air, sea, and land connectivity, as well as the warm hospitality of Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta was in a group with some of the most outstanding destinations that represented Mexico and positioned the image of the country as one of the most attractive worldwide for meeting tourism. This city was one of the great protagonists due to its importance for holding congresses, exhibitions, and incentive trips, among other events, given that it has the infrastructure, the most advanced technology, and the professionals in the area to carry out these meetings.

Likewise, the green pearl of the Mexican Pacific highlighted the vast potential of its 15,300 rooms and 45,000 m2 of spaces perfectly equipped for events, which include the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center, its diverse cuisine, more than 50 ecotourism activities and culture, which makes this tourist destination one of the most attractive internationally.

This meeting gave Puerto Vallarta the opportunity to get up to date on new technologies, tools, as well as trends in meeting tourism, through conferences, workshops, laboratories, one-on-one appointments, Career Collective, Wellness Campfire (where Topics with a focus on wellness, medical tourism, and sustainability) and educational sessions by great speakers and experts, were discussed.

Under the same roof, the largest number of suppliers and buyers of the meeting tourism industry worldwide met to carry out updates, certifications, and alliances, in which Puerto Vallarta was a key player and was considered one of the most important destinations in Mexico.

It should be noted that next year, our country will host the 51st edition of the WEC, in which Puerto Vallarta will be one of the main protagonists of this important meeting, where Mexico's position is the leading country to carry out MICE segment events.

This is how Puerto Vallarta successfully returned to this international meeting industry event, where it was possible to establish new connections with key allies, who showed great interest in this important tourist destination in the Mexican Pacific.
