Puerto Vallarta continues to position itself as one of the most highly regarded tourist destinations by national and international visitors, after once again exceeding the figures obtained in passenger arrivals by air in July of this year, compared to previous years and even the rest of 2022.
Tourism in the green pearl of the Mexican Pacific is in constant growth, which is demonstrated within the data on the arrival of visitors through the Puerto Vallarta International Airport.
The domestic market has been one of the main captive travelers to Puerto Vallarta. In July of this year, the city received 140,150 passengers by air, which represents an increase of 30% compared to 2021 where there were only 108,150 visitors, and when in comparison with 2019 an increase of 37% with 102,100 users.
Even in the month of July 2022, the highest figure in the entire year in arrival of national passengers was registered with 140,150 passengers, having in turn 81,100 in January, 72,400 in February, 95,950 in March, 113,900 in April, 116,555 in May and 115,450 in June.
In international arrivals, the increase during the month of July is also significant, registering 139,200 passengers in 2022 against 120,400 last year, having an increase of 16%. While compared to 2019, prior to the pandemic, there is an increase of 43% when 97,650 travelers were received.
This year, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport has received a total of 735,500 domestic passengers and 1,106,550 international passengers.
