Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco's premier beach destination, was recently nominated in the Cities category of Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards 2023.
The awards are among the most prestigious international travel awards, recognizing the best places in the world in 18 different categories.
Condé Nast Traveller readers are invited to vote online to select and honor their favorite places in categories including Airlines, Airports, Car Rentals, Cruise Ships, Trains, Destination Spas, Homestays & Villa Rentals, Hotels and Resorts.
Readers' Choice Awards 2023 will also recognize top-voted Luggage brands, Restaurants, Bars & Beach Clubs, Tour Operators & Specialists, Ski Resorts, Countries, Beaches, Islands and Cities.
Puerto Vallarta and Jalisco's capital, Guadalajara, were nominated in the latter category for their unique architecture, cuisine, atmosphere, activities and accommodation, among others.
Jalisco continues to guarantee those traveling to Mexico the best possible experience. The cities of Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara reflect the diversity and natural and historical richness of the state, according to the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Jalisco, Vanessa Pérez Lamas.
“I am proud to see Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara once again ranked as the best cities to visit,” said Perez Llamas. “These nominations show two of our best destinations are moving in a positive direction.”
At present, Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara are the most visited destinations in Jalisco, both for beaches and cities. In recent years, they have established their position worldwide as places of innovation, creativity and symbols of Mexicana, with icons such as Mariachi, tequila and birria.
Being nominated for Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards 2023 is also a recognition for Puerto Vallarta's natural and cultural beauty, and for its excellent hospitality to visitors.
Puerto Vallarta's wide variety of accommodations, tropical climate, dream beaches, outdoor activities and vibrant nightlife make it a world-class destination and one of the most visited by travelers.
Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara share the "Best City" nomination with some of the world's top cities, including: Amsterdam (Netherlands), Madrid (Spain), Hamburg and Berlin (Germany), Cannes (France), Bruges (Belgium), Brasilia (Brazil) and Atlanta (United States).
Jalisco was one of three states of Mexico that received two nominees for its urban areas.
Voting is open to the general public through Friday, June 30. Voting will take place on the Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards 2023 website.
