At Adeprotur we encourage ethics and professionalism in the timeshare industry through the transparency of processes and mechanisms that extends from prospecting to sales. We work to define a voluntary code to boost integral development and sustainable growth of the vacation clubs in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.
Our objective is to promote an innovative and ethical culture that benefits both vacation club buyers and the most important developments in the region in order to contribute to the economic development of our destination.
Adeprotur was constituted on July 18th, 1986 with the participation of five founders that had the vision of regulating, standardizing and providing transparency related to the operation vacation clubs in Banderas Bay. Currently we have 24 associates.
At local and national level we enjoy contracts and agreements with federal authorities and private companies with the aim of professionalizing the sector. Currently, our 2023 – 2025 Board of Directors is made up by a President, a Vice-president, a Secretary, a Treasurer and four Chairpersons.
The origin of timeshare in Mexico can be traced back to the 70s when the first developments of this kind started to operate. During the 80s, systematic procedures were developed by the association to commercialize any property (which at the time amounted to180 touristic condominiums). Today there are more than 500 timeshare developments in the country.
The value that timeshare brings to the community of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit is reflected in the continual investments in infrastructure that they generate, but also by the repeat nature of the tourism that secures a constant level of occupancy over the long term.
Adeprotur's short term objective is to support the multitude of vacation clubs in the region through their affiliation to our association, instituting a dynamic of transparency and quality through high standards of service and certification of all our internal collaborators.

Advise timeshare developers on the commercialization of their product by informing them of and guiding them through the programs and plans in place that are intended to regularize and demystify the time share/vacation club industry.
Timeshare (also known as Vacation Club) is the process in which a property is designed to be shared by separate owners during allotted vacation periods. These vacation periods are usually divided into weeks, making 52 periods available throughout the year for the property to be in use. The co-ownership of each unit allows all maintenance costs to be absorbed among all of the members.
In other words, a vacation club allows members to prepay future accommodations at any hotel or resort condominium at a fixed price plus an annual maintenance fee, so they may enjoy a vacation week for a number of years (generally 20 to 30). Commonly, these rooms will accommodate two, four, six or more people.
This vacation concept is a global trend and its successful business model augments every year. For example, in 2014 the official figures indicate that timeshare inventory exceeds over 7,500 developments internationally, with more than 10 million members and reported sales of over $15 billion dollars.
