The Riviera Nayarit is preparing to attend the most important tourism event in Spain—and one of the most important in the world: the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) 2021. The 41st edition will focus on the global tourism industry recovery more than a year after the world was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
FITUR 2021 will be held in Madrid, Spain, May 19-23, 2021, at the Ifema fairgrounds. As a complement to the in-person edition, organizers will launch FITUR LIVEConnect, an advanced digital platform that offers business networking opportunities and strengthens interaction with the international tourism community.
The Riviera Nayarit will present its Luxury and Nature offer at the Mexico pavilion, headed by Polo Sanchez-Valle. He will showcase the destination’s new tourism offerings, hotel infrastructure, services, and eco-friendly activities, in addition to highlighting the safety protocols established to safeguard travelers and encourage them to visit this region when health conditions allow it.
“The goal is to strengthen ties with the European market: airlines, travel agencies, wholesalers, and other industry players. We also want to renew our alliance with TUI Airways, the third largest airline based in the United Kingdom. This airline had been operating two flights a week to this region from London and Manchester since 2014. However, they were suspended due to the pandemic,” said Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau.
He added, “Participating in FITUR 2021 is a great opportunity to once again position our destination as a reference point for international travelers, in addition to the great media exposure we’ll have since the most prestigious international media outlets will cover the fair.”
“Most importantly, we’ll be joining the tourism business recovery at a time when the world needs a significant boost to restart one of its main economic engines,” he said.
The Riviera Nayarit is a safe destination. Our hotels, restaurants, and tourist establishments follow all the health protocols established by the Federal Government’s Ministry of Health and operate at the allowed capacities. Access to the beaches is limited. Be a responsible tourist: wear your mask and keep your distance.
The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) work tirelessly to jointly promote the region with the support of the Government of the State of Nayarit through its Tourism Promotion Trust (Fiprotur).
