One of the amazing perks of visiting Mexico is obviously the incredibly diverse Mexican cuisine. One of the most popular things to eat all across the country is without a doubt, tacos! There are so many different kinds of tacos, that owning a timeshare makes it a lot easier to keep coming back and trying new ones. Although, when it comes to tacos in Vallarta - Nayarit, here are three different kinds of tacos you absolutely have to try.

1. Tacos al Pastor: These slow-cooked rotisserie style marinated pork tacos are very savoury and absolutely delicious. They are generally served with a slice or two of grilled pineapple, cilantro, and raw onions and can be found at many street food stands throughout Old Town Vallarta.

2. Birria Tacos:Arguably just as common as pastor, these tacos are most popular as a breakfast-time dish and are even said to be a magical hangover cure. They are made from marinated lamb or goat meat and can be served regularly in a soft corn tortilla, or as a taco dorado, which is basically a taco fried in oil and meat broth…delicious! These, like most tacos, are also served with cilantro and raw onion.

3. Seafood Tacos: Because Vallarta is a beach town, any seafood taco that you try is going to be extremely fresh and therefore, delicious. There are a variety of different seafood tacos including shrimp, fish, and octopus. These are a great option for those who aren’t frequent meat-eaters or for those who simply want to try a different way of enjoying the delicious seafood here in Vallarta!

Once your tacos are served, you’ll have the option to choose a deliciously fresh-made salsa, varying in flavour and spice level; and to add an essential ingredient: lime! The tart flavour of lime brings out all the other flavours in any taco you order, we really recommend it. And remember, tacos are type of Mexican food that is meant to be eaten with your hands; it may be considered a food crime to ask for a knife and fork.
