Although there are plenty of things to do in Puerto Vallarta while enjoying a vacation at your timeshare in Puerto Vallarta or Riviera Nayarit, there is one thing in particular that is extremely underrated: exploring the Botanical Gardens.

Puerto Vallarta’s Botanical gardens, located around a 40 minute drive from Old Town, extend over 64-acres and are situated at 1,300ft above sea level. Founded in 2004, and opened to the public in 2005, the gardens have provided a never-before opportunity to share the wonder of the vast diversity of Mexico’s plant species with the community of Puerto Vallarta.

On your visit to the gardens, you can experience a unique culinary adventure, explore a vanilla plantation and plant conservatories, enjoy beautiful hiking trails in the forest preserve and find something beautiful to take back with you from the garden gift shop or plant nursery. Plus, if you find yourself visiting Puerto Vallarta at the beginning of March, head to the gardens to enjoy the annual Bird and Nature Festival on March 8, 9 and 10 to enjoy nature walks, guided birding, nature talks, a photo exhibit and even a bird show!
