The first edition of Forbes Life Ranking “The 10 best tourist destinations in Latin America” has arrived in 2021, and the Riviera Nayarit received an honorable mention as Mexico’s “Luxury Destination.”
According to Forbes, the destinations included in the ranking are on the wish lists of millions of tourists and are also considered “the year’s most wanted;” it three special destinations in Mexico, a country distinguished by the diversity of its offer and the energy of each of its regions.
The Riviera Nayarit and its mention as a “Luxury Destination” was included in a review of the spectacular resorts that have opened their doors in recent months in the destination, such as the One&Only Mandarina, “which unveiled an unexplored route in Mexico’s Pacific Treasure and gave a new meaning to the word sublime.” Also mentioned are the upcoming openings of ultra-luxury hotels such as Susurros del Corazón, the boutique hotel by Auberge Resorts, and the Ritz-Carlton Reserve Riviera Nayarit.
To make the list, Forbes took into consideration (among other aspects) criteria regarding the “new normal” when analyzing the destinations, which also guarantees the health and safety of its visitors as part of their efforts.
The standards they took into consideration included: national and international health and safety certifications; sanitary protocols and infrastructure adapted to the new reality; tourism innovation; and connectivity. These are aspects that Mexico’s Pacific Treasure has more than fulfilled as a tourist destination since June of 2020, when it received the Safe Travels Stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
Last but not least, it’s important to mention that the selection committee of the “10 best tourist destinations in Latin America” included specialists from the global tourism industry, such as Virtuoso, Booking, Toucan Insights, The Leading Hotels of the World, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, and the Center for Tourism Research and Competitiveness (Cicotur) Anahuac, as well as the editorial team of Forbes Life Latam.
