U.S. News & World Report has recognized the quality inherent in the Riviera Nayarit and has awarded notable ratings to the destination and its hotels in the 2021 edition of its rankings, after reviewing more than 30,000 luxury properties in the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean.
Punta Mita earned a prominent place in the “Best Places to Visit in Mexico” list, which took into account cultural attractions, beaches and nightlife, as well as the opinion of experts in the tourism industry and travelers’ recommendations via TripAdvisor.
Likewise, 12 Riviera Nayarit hotels were added to various lists, based on a comprehensive methodology that takes into account each hotel’s star rating, industry accolades, and guest reviews.
Relevant hotel information—from room amenities to pool and spa features—is also provided, allowing travelers to begin planning their next vacation. However, while U.S. News did not include COVID-19 data in the rankings, several of the top awards presented also took property cleanliness into account.
Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau, said that despite the challenges the travel industry is facing due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is gratifying to note that publishing companies such as U.S. News recognize and support hotels that have maintained exemplary standards around the world.
“The Riviera Nayarit has piqued the interest of a select group of tourists worldwide in search of ultra-luxury resorts, exceptional gourmet experiences, and unparalleled service; these are factors to which we can add the biosecurity protocols that each hotel has instituted since the beginning of the pandemic,” he said.
Mexico’s Pacific Treasure was included in the following lists: “Best Places to Visit in Mexico;” “Best Mexico Hotels;” “Best Hotels in Pacific Coast;” “Best Resorts in Pacific Coast;” “Best All-Inclusive Resorts in Mexico;” and “Best All-Inclusive Resorts in Pacific Coast;” which are mentioned below as well as the place they occupy in the ranking.
