When celebrities pick a spot to get married, enjoy their honeymoon, or simply reaffirm their love, they don’t settle for just any place. The more exclusive, exotic, and remote it is, the better. And that’s precisely what they find in the Riviera Nayarit.
Celebrities see this destination as the ideal place to pledge their eternal love for their partners. Mexican boxer Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez married María Fernanda Gómez this Saturday in a private ceremony held at Imanta Resorts Punta de Mita, a beautiful development located in Higuera Blanca, Nayarit.
The boxer’s bride is a model from Guadalajara, Jalisco, who has become a celebrity on social networks. Her Instagram account—where she shares images and videos of her travels—has some 430 thousand followers to date.
Photos of the civil ceremony began to circulate on social networks on Saturday night, May 15, and by Sunday, the news had gone viral. According to journalist and Univision influencer “Chamonic3,” as she calls herself on her Instagram account, the guests were taken to the event in golf carts, as access was by invitation only.
The posted images show the beachfront reception venue and a video of the newlyweds dancing. Chilean singer Mon Laferte provided the entertainment for the party.
Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, who got married in 2014 at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, are among the many other actors who have held their wedding in this destination. Singer, actress, fashion designer, and presenter Jessica Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson—who tied the knot on July 5 in Montecito, California—spent a romantic honeymoon in Punta Mita. Actors Courtney Mazza and Mario Lopez also got married in Punta de Mita on December 1, 2012. In June 2014, mixed martial arts fighter T.J. Dillashaw “The Viper” and his girlfriend Rebecca Reynoso tied the knot in Sayulita, where they enjoyed an exclusive ceremony with very Mexican details at the Hotel Villa Amor.
There’s truly nothing better than the Riviera Nayarit’s unique combination of luxury and nature to celebrate love!
