The Riviera Nayarit is among the most sought-after beach destinations this summer, according to a report by online travel agency PriceTravel Holding, which considers the reactivation of travel and promotional strategies as essential factors.
The wholesaler with operations in Latin America also pointed out a 45% increase in the reservation of room nights for this holiday season, compared to the same period in 2019, even though the public health crisis due to Covid-19 and its variants continues.
The online travel agency reported that the average stay is three nights. The Riviera Nayarit is prominent among destinations like Cancun, Riviera Maya, Puerto Vallarta, Playa del Carmen, and Acapulco.
According to the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau Barometer, the current room inventory in Riviera Nayarit is 19,261; however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the hotel industry is operating at 70% of the inventory. The barometer also shows an increase in the number of room nights in July concerning the same month of 2019 at 385,572, which indicates a rise of 8.5%.
Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau, stated that promotional efforts geared towards the recovery of the destination’s tourism have become ongoing.
“We’re experiencing a positive summer season, and we’re pleased to see that, despite the global pandemic crisis, the Riviera Nayarit remains among the preferred destinations for national and international travelers”.
It is essential to reaffirm that the hygiene and health safety conditions for tourists are guaranteed. Hotels and service providers follow protocols and health measures endorsed by the state, national, and international authorities to prevent possible COVID-19 contagions.
