The hotel and supply industry of the green pearl of the Mexican Pacific managed to make more than 1,500 business appointments with around 67 national and international wholesalers.

This event exceeded industry expectations; successful holiday seasons are expected.

The XXVII edition of Gala Puerto Vallarta-Riviera Nayarit was held on March 28 and 29 with great success and jubilation after a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It managed to bring together around 67 wholesalers with important hotels in the area, who reached remarkable commercial agreements to ensure the sale of room nights in the coming vacation seasons, which benefits the ongoing reactivation of this tourist destination.

Considered the most important tourism industry event in the Mexican Pacific, Gala Puerto Vallarta - Riviera Nayarit was the link to achieve important negotiations with national and international wholesalers, who were excited to learn more about the hotel industry in the green pearl of the Pacific.

A total of 102 hotels from the metropolitan region participated in this important event, which reflects the area's interest in increasing hotel offers, providing greater options to travelers from all over the world, making Puerto Vallarta even more attractive. 

The Puerto Vallarta - Riviera Nayarit Gala also featured the participation of airlines, DMCs, interconnection platforms, as well as the media, who showed the audience each of the actions carried out by the tourism industry in the metropolitan area.

Alliances were even achieved with the airlines present to place traditional products of the region such as chocolate, tequila, coffee, and wine and thus have a presence in their service options to provide passengers during flights.

Important tour companies such as Canopy River, Dolphin Discovery, El Jorullo Paradise, Vallarta Adventures, among others, showed the extensive offer of adventure and nature tourism that Puerto Vallarta has, with wholesalers being the main interested party in knowing more about their experiences, given that this beach destination is one of the most attractive for the more than 50 outdoor activities it has to offer.

In the same way, the Magical Towns of Jalisco were present, which offer tourists a different variety of options during their stay, opening the possibility of extending the average stay in room nights in the region, being a differentiating factor in Mexico and the world.

During each of the meetings with wholesalers and others involved in the tourism industry, Puerto Vallarta showed the best of its benefits, being the tourist destination that has everything for each of the segments, from LGBTQ+, travel, wellness, luxury, business, entertainment, and cuisine, which has been constantly innovating in each of the kitchens that it integrates and also in the events that generate an avant-garde style such as the recent Vinoma Fest.

Even romance tourism was one of the main protagonists with the presence of travel agencies focused on this segment such as Mi Boda en Vallarta, IMACOP, among others, who negotiated rates and packages for weddings.

More important news that was highlighted during the event was the preference that the inhabitants of the Bajío maintain to continue traveling to Puerto Vallarta, this tourist city represents a third of the business in that region, shared with the wholesale partners located in the area.

Different airlines announced positive news that will benefit the connectivity of Puerto Vallarta, such as the return of summer operations with Magnicharters with 4 flights from Chihuahua and 6 from Monterrey on a weekly basis; As of June 8, JetBlue increases its operations with daily flights from New York, Delta Airlines with a 23% increase in operations in the fall, WestJet with more flights for the upcoming holiday seasons, Air Canada with more than 15 flights for the fall and maintaining the route from Vancouver in the summer, among many more. As for the average stay, it has increased for the region as the "revenge trip" continues to be popular among travelers as a result of the pandemic.

Undoubtedly, Gala Puerto Vallarta - Riviera Nayarit, where consular, immigration, and airport authorities were also present, was an important event that provided excellent results to the green pearl of the Mexican Pacific, having outstanding commercial deals between wholesalers, hotels, and other service providers, which will benefit the industry in the upcoming holiday seasons.
