Puerto Vallarta Strengthens its Promotion with Travel Agents in the State of Chihuahua

During the workweek in the northern state of the country, the attractions that will captivate travelers of the tourist destination were promoted for the coming summer season.

The state of Chihuahua is one of the most important for Puerto Vallarta since it has a significant number of regular travelers to the destination.

As part of the promotional actions taken by the Public Trust for the Promotion and Tourist Advertising of Puerto Vallarta, a successful day of work was carried out in the state of Chihuahua to market the attractions of the green pearl of the Mexican Pacific.

From May 3 to 6, Puerto Vallarta participated in the Mysticism Culture Seminar, which had a program of activities aimed at travel advisors, in which specific training was given on the destination. Information and updates were provided on the reactivation of tourist offers in this important city.

The meeting was attended by approximately 110 travel agents from the regions of Ciudad Juárez, Ciudad Cuauhtémoc and Casas Grandes. The events were held in various formats, presentations-seminars, trade shows, and networking events.

On May 7 and 8, Puerto Vallarta was part of the Expo Viaja Chihuahua 2022. It participated in a stand of the wholesaler “Alpha Travels”. This important event brought together more than 4,000 attendees, who had the opportunity to learn about the promotions and travel packages for summer 2022, as well as book their vacation options to this destination.

Expo Viaja 2022 registered 70% more visitor attendance than the 2021 edition, which means a significant increase in the tourist reactivation and the demand of the Chihuahua market.

The assistance and participation of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust were very important to promote the continuous reactivation of Vallarta’s tourism and its presence in this important region, which, together with the destination's hotels and the wholesaler Alpha Travels, carried out an outstanding job of promoting the destination, convincing, generating trust and purchasing decision by potential customers.

It is important to note that the wholesaler Alpha Travels is a commercial ally of Puerto Vallarta and has a high presence in the Chihuahua market. They are the only ones to promote the destination in an integral way to their clients, whose product includes transportation inland from the northern state, with scheduled departures every Saturday of the summer (starting June 25), which allows a minimum stay of 4 nights in the city and represents a higher than average number compared to other markets.

The state of Chihuahua has great connectivity to Puerto Vallarta, it has connections with the Magnicharters airlines, which, in turn, have 18 frequencies per month during high seasons; Viva Aerobús with around 9 monthly flights and TAR with up to 12 in the same period.

During each of the events, the benefits of Puerto Vallarta were promoted, from its more than 50 outdoor activities, gastronomic events during the month of May such as Restaurant Week, and Flavors Vallarta, among others, as well as the offer for all other tourist segments.

The reservation trend during Expo Viaja was for the summer season, for which there are great expectations and it is expected to exceed the numbers of 2021, and even those registered in 2019 prior to the pandemic.

The hotel offers of the city were diverse and their participation was of the utmost importance since they supported the reactivation of the tourism industry by showcasing the benefits they provide to travel agents and visitors to Expo Viaja 2022.
