The “Ellas se Juntan” Initiative is Born in Puerto Vallarta, Which Seeks to Shine Light on the Work of Women in the Gastronomic Industry

Different chefs, mixologists, and sommeliers from the destination have come together to create this project that will promote their work in the gastronomic industry.

Next Saturday, July 16, a dinner will be held at Los Toneles restaurant where part of the proceeds will be used for different social causes.

With the aim of promoting and recognizing the work of women in the Puerto Vallarta gastronomic scene, the “Ellas se Juntan” initiative was created, in which different chefs, mixologists, and sommeliers meet to carry out various actions that make their work more visible in the industry, for this reason, next Saturday, July 16, they will hold a 7-course dinner at Los Toneles restaurant located in the Romantic Zone of the city.

This women's initiative, convened by the executive chef of Los Toneles Restaurant, Fabiola Meraz, seeks to make visible the work of professionals in the gastronomic area in Puerto Vallarta and that they are recognized for their work in haute cuisine.

Through the “Ellas se Juntan” initiative, different special events are intended to be held to promote their work and thus support various social causes of the most vulnerable sectors.

The first meeting of the initiative will be held next Saturday, July 16, through a special 7-course dinner at Los Toneles Restaurant, where a percentage of the proceeds will go to the Vallarta Women's Association; In addition, the treatment of children and young people with cancer will be helped and channeled through the Network of Altruistic Associations.

"With these actions, we seek to demonstrate our talent as professional women to the world, make visible the impact that chefs, sommeliers, mixologists, and other experts have within the gastronomic industry and what better than in one of the most important destinations in the country such as Puerto Vallarta, while also supporting other social causes of vulnerable groups”, assured Fabiola Meraz, Executive Chef of Los Toneles Restaurant.

The women from the gastronomic industry who will participate in this first meeting of “Ellas se Juntan” are: Ana Rito, Executive Chef of La Leche Restaurant, Ana Flores, Chef in Charge of La Tienda Grande Restaurant, Fabiola Meraz, Executive Chef of Los Toneles Restaurant, Emilce Salas, Chef of the La Milpa Restaurant, Lara Castellón, Executive Chef of the Café des Artistes Restaurant, Chela Smith, Chef of the Orégano Restaurant and Julieth Hernández, Chef of the Gaviotas Restaurant inside the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center hotel.

Likewise, the women who will be in charge of pairing during dinner are the mixologists: Lea Flores, Athziri Rodríguez, and Mar Estrada, from the BEVA Association.

Without a doubt, the night of Saturday, July 16, will be very special for all the women in the gastronomic industry of Puerto Vallarta, who will showcase their amazing talent and promote their work.
