During the 36th Annual Ordinary General Assembly of the Mexican Association of Tourism Developers (AMDETUR), Rosario Rodríguez Rojo was unanimously elected president of the Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 term. Fernando González Contreras, son of hotel businessman Fernando González Corona, is a member of the Board of Directors.
Rosario Rodriguez presented her proposals and strategies to lead the organization, which mainly brings together timeshare and vacation ownership developers, and expressed that one of the most important objectives is to give continuity to the work plan that has been developed under the management of Gerardo Rioseco at the head of the association.
She has more than 30 years of experience in the timeshare and vacation ownership sector and for the last 8 years she has been the general manager of Grupo Royal Holiday.
She pointed out that, without a doubt, one of the greatest achievements is to have redefined the active role that AMDETUR must play with its associates, together with the participation of the local associations that make up the sector.
He emphasized that one of the main axes for success is to have a united, focused and strengthened association that provides added value to its members and that developers consider it essential to be part of AMDETUR.
He stressed that it is of utmost importance to strengthen AMDETUR's relationship with international associations, since "we are an important part of the same markets, although in different places, but serving the same types of clients. He also stated that it is important not only to look at what is happening in North America, but also to join forces for the development of regions such as the Caribbean and South America.
Rosario Rodriguez concluded that the work of the Board of Directors that he will preside over will be that of a guide, since "AMDETUR's operational team has been restructured with the aim of being self-sufficient and the president will be just another player on the team.
