Mexico’s tourism industry is currently in one of the best states in recent challenging years due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Mexico has positioned itself as sixth in arrivals worldwide.

With the return of vacationers to other international destinations and the opening of borders globally, the vacation property industry has been key for Mexican tourism, an industry that Mexico has led over the years.

According to the Mexican Association of Tourism Developers (AMDETUR), our country is second, only to the United States in membership sales worldwide. A study by the international group RCI indicates that Mexico owns more than one third of the Vacation Property Developments in Latin America.

The vacation property industry encourages constant and captivated tourism since the possibility of choosing the best time to go on vacation is a key factor in promoting the country's different destinations among international tourists.

Currently, the main source markets for international travelers are the United States, Canada, Colombia, and the United Kingdom, according to the Mexican Ministry of Tourism.

According to estimates from the Anáhuac Tourism Research and Competitiveness Center (Cicotur), in just the first seven months of 2023, Mexico registered an income from international visitors of around 18.2 billion dollars, 19.7% above the numbers registered in 2019.

This growth is largely due to the diversification of the Vacation Property market, which today is not only limited to resorts and beach destinations but is also offered in city destinations with fractional concepts like houses, condominiums, and yachts that provide additional services, comfort, and flexibility for tourists.

Although Cancún, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta currently remain the three Mexican destinations with the highest demand for timeshares, according to AMDETUR. However, the wide range of options that the country has, has allowed for a growth in demand for timeshares in tourist destinations such as San Miguel de Allende, Mérida, Oaxaca, and San Cristóbal de las Casas.

The concept of vacation ownership has captured the attention of younger and older generations of vacationers because in recent years the professionalization of the industry has drastically increased the level of service and offers they have, accompanied by the arrival of large national hotel chains and other organizations.

Today we see a different tourist, who no longer necessarily associates vacations with the beach but is rather seeking experiences and entertainment. The diversity of destinations that our country has to offer is truly incredible and this has made us a strong and resilient competitor in the Vacation Ownership industry, where the quality of our service is recognized and appreciated worldwide.
