Tourism in Mexico has shown constant growth, the end of 2023 shows proof of this, where our developers achieved growth rates between 10% and 15% compared to 2022. Also according to data from the Ministry of Tourism , hotel occupancy experienced an increase of 3.1% from January to November 2023, reaching 59.6%.
These results are a testament to the significant growth that Mexican tourism has had in the past year, as well as showing the preference many vacationers have for vacation ownership as a way to enjoy their time off. Meanwhile, it’s also important to highlight the resilience of the industry, which has determinedly faced significant challenges, such as the impact of Hurricane “Otis” on a key tourist destination like Acapulco.
Vacation ownership is not just an industry, it’s a unique vacation experience that we have perfected over the years. Since the first projects in the 1980s, the industry has sought out diversification and evolution to offer our clients a wide variety of benefits and unique lodging options.
This transformation and focus towards exceptional vacation experiences is palpably manifested in iconic locations such as Cancún, Los Cabos, Tulum and Puerto Vallarta. However, the vision of these destinations is not limited to just being tourist spots; but are places where vacations and unforgettable trips are redefined.
Vacation clubs and timeshares have become essential pieces in the Mexican tourism landscape, contributing significantly to an industry worth around 20 billion dollars worldwide.
In Mexico, membership sales reach approximately $6 billion annually, making vacation ownership a preferred choice among travelers around the world, placing Mexico as the second largest market in the world, after the USA. An effect that also generates employment and economic stimulation in the areas where it operates.
To summarize, vacation ownership in Mexico represents a vibrant and constantly evolving market, driven by consumer confidence, quality of service and the attractiveness of Mexican tourist destinations.
With solid growth projections and a focus on sustainability, innovation and customer satisfaction, this vacation ownership will continue to be a fundamental pillar of the national and international tourism industry.
